Hello! My name is Joanni!

I am  a neurodivergent Filipino designer based in Vancouver.
Though I had not always known that I wanted to be a designer, I had always been an inquisitive learner, a sensitive storyteller, and an analytical problem solver.

My keen interest in people began as early as grade school. I love personality tests. My favourite books as a child were always those in diary format (Junie B. Jones, Dear Dumb Diary, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, to name a few). I love talking to people, getting a glimpse of people’s thoughts, but most importantly, I have a deep desire to understand how people think. Upon discovering design,

My design ethos:
THE JOURNEY IS GREATER THAN THE DESTINATION

The journey is greater than the destination. I firmly believe that a good process renders more excellent results. My design process includes constant research, lateral explorations, and iterative design.
VALUES-SENSITIVE DESIGN

I have always used my values as a compass for direction. As a designer, I seek to balance stakeholder values, end-user values, and my values to create a meaningful and relevant product.
CHAMPION FOR ACCESS

Having experienced the challenges of navigating a society that is not designed with diverse needs in mind, I am dedicated to using my product design skills to create more equitable and accessible experiences for all users.
